I chose the name “Kina Helena” as an homage to my heritage. The name “Helena” is my given middle name, after my grandmother, and “Kina” is a nickname from childhood.

Born and raised in Canada, my passion for photography mainly originated from a childhood spent in the great outdoors. Camping weekends, road trips, early morning wake up calls, sleepless nights stargazing… these are elements of my upbringing that I hold close to my heart.

In a world that is saturated with images and visual stimulation, what’s making people stop their scroll for yours? What is it that’s unique about you? I believe in diverse representation in media and outdoor spaces, inclusivity, and sustainability. I strive to create photography that is emotional and can tell a story, and so lifestyle and adventure photography have become my main passion.
